Manchester City and Arsenal football teams arrived at Etihad Stadium in Manchester on Wednesday, as the Premier League resumed after a more than three-month-long coronavirus-induced hiatus.
Teams arrived at the stadium in buses and private vehicles. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was seen walking on the premises, while wearing protective gloves and a mask.
The game was played behind closed doors and only a few fans were outside the stadium when the players arrived.
Kieren, a Man City supporter, said he was «excited to see City back in action.»
Jake, an Arsenal fan, expected the players to be «still keeping quite fit.»
«I can’t imagine them dropping off their fitness too much. I think their touch might be a little off but apart from that it will definitely be the same sort of football,» he said.
Inside the stadium, fewer than 300 onlookers, including club staff, media and safety stewards, were allowed to witness the match. All of them had to undergo temperature checks before entering the ground.
The game ended 3-0 in favour of Manchester City.
The Premier League resumption features 92 games crammed into less than six weeks with Liverpool clear at the top 22 points ahead of Manchester City.
