UK: Falkirk car park flooded after torrential rains cause chaos

Cars were submerged in a Falkirk hotel car park, in Scotland's Central Lowlands region, on Wednesday, after torrential rains overnight caused widespread flooding. Tuesday night's heavy rains across central and eastern Scotland resulted in landslips and flooding, forcing the closure of schools in some areas while disrupting road and rail travel. Railway tracks near Stonehaven, where a train derailment resulted in three deaths on Wednesday morning, were also reportedly flooded, although the cause of the accident has yet to be established fully.
