UK: Cambridge students remember Stephen Hawking

Students laid flowers and signed a book of condolence at Stephen Hawking's former college in Cambridge on Wednesday, in remembrance of the world-renowned physicist who died in the early hours of the day. Еще the celebrated author of such seminal works as 'A Brief History of Time' and 'The Universe in a Nutshell,' and was often regarded as one of the most significant scientists of modern times since Albert Einstein. Hawking defied all odds by developing his most ground-breaking theories of physics, space and time after he was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), a type of motor neurone disease in 1962 and was speculated to live only two more years. Hawking was 76 years old.
