Head coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team Steve Rhodes said the pressure was all on their opponents Pakistan for the Cricket World Cup match on Friday, as they need a huge win to qualify for the semifinal stage. Rhodes was speaking at a pre-match press conference in London on Thursday.
«Oh, yeah. I think it's the only way that I know how to play the game of cricket, which is to win. I... Еще certainly know that the players will be desperate to win, and there will be no such thing of taking it easy. This is an international match, an ODI, a World Cup game against great opposition, and Bangladesh will be doing their very, very best to win the game,» said Rhodes.
«No, I don't really feel the pressures of that because, you know, with Bangladesh, we've got a lot pressure of 170 million back home wanting us to win, but without the tournament, Pakistan can still qualify. Maybe the pressure is all on Pakistan going into this game,» he added.
The captain of the Pakistan national cricket team Sarfraz Ahmed said, «Yeah, it is very difficult — 316 runs is a big margin. Only if you're batting first, if you score 600 runs or 500 runs. So I don't know what the study is behind this, but I can't do anything.»
Pakistan and Bangladesh will clash at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London on Friday. The start of the match is scheduled at 10:30 GMT.
