UK: Assange supporters gather outside Ecuadorian embassy after internet shutdown

UK: Supporters gather outside Ecuadorian embassy after Assange's internet shutdown Supporters of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange gathered outside the Ecuadorian Embassy in London on Wednesday, following reports that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been banned from the Internet and is not allowed any visitors. The small crowd held posters reading «Free and compensate Assange» and «He... Еще just wants to publish the truth», amongst others. Hashtag «ReconnectJulian» was spread on Twitter, after the Ecuadorian government posted a statement on Twitter saying, «the Ecuadorean government believes Assange's behaviour, through his messages on social media, put at risk good relations between this country with the UK, the rest of the EU and other nations». Assange has been residing in the Ecuadorian embassy in London since 2012 and has since been granted Ecuadorian citizenship.
