UK: Arrests made as protesters stage 'die-in' at one of Europe’s largest arms fairs

Anti-war activists picketed the ExCeL Centre in East London in protest against the upcoming Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI), one of Europe's biggest arms fairs, with a handful of protesters chaining themselves to one another on the floor through pipes and other objects in a staged 'die-in,' on Wednesday. Emergency services sawed open the connecting pipes before police... Еще officers arrested the protesters, leading to a chorus of applause and boos by onlookers and protesters. The protest, which will continue until September 11, is organised by the Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT), a UK-based organisation campaigning to end the international trade in weapons. More than 34,000 visitors are expected to attend the fair, according to reports.
