UK: Anti-fracking activists broke injunction, rules Manchester court

Three anti-fracking activists were found guilty by a Manchester court of breaching a protest injunction, during a ruling issued on Friday. The injunction was taken out by the fracking firm Cuadrilla, and was designed to stop the trio's protest at their fracking site in Lancashire. One of the defendants, Christopher Wilson, said that the injunction suggests that «protests are working.» Tina... Еще Rothery, another anti-fracking activist, stated that she is not certain of how «seriously» the law should be taken, if it leads to «the lack of health for our children and a poor future, and possible destruction of more species.» Footage shows pro-climate demonstrators gathered in front of the building with placards, in support of the defendants. The three defendants, Katrina Lawrie, Lee Walsh and Christopher Wilson, had taken part into a 'lock-on' at the entrance to the Lancashire fracking site on June 24, 2018.
