UK: All quiet at Ecuadorian embassy after Pres. Moreno claims Assange able to leave

All was seemingly calm outside of the Ecuadorian embassy in London on Thursday evening, following the claim by Ecuadorean President Lenin Moreno that Wikileaks founder Julian Assange can leave the building where he has been staying for the past six years. Moreno made the claim during a local radio interview in Ecuador, saying that the UK government has guaranteed that Assange will not be... Еще extradited to a country where he may face the death penalty. Assange has been residing in the embassy in London since 2012, when he breached the conditions of his bail and absconded to avoid being extradited to Sweden to face questioning over allegations of sexual assault. Despite Sweden dropping these investigations in 2017, Assange still faces arrest by the UK due to his breaching bail.
