Around 4,000 people joined the People’s Assembly Against Austerity in Manchester, on Sunday, in a march against the ruling Conservative Party, who were holding their party conference in the city. The march went from Castlefield Bowl, through the centre of the city, before finishing in Manchester’s Piccadilly Square. Mark Serwotka, General Secretary of the Public and Commercial Services Union... Еще spoke to the rally, where he heavily criticised the Conservative government. He said, «Let’s get a decent social security that we can all be proud of, stand with the unemployed and the sick and the disabled and against this vicious Tory government.» The protests were sparked by the begining of the annual Conservative Party Conference, this year being held in Manchester. The conference will continue from Sunday till Wednesday.
