Turkey: World should recognise Jerusalem as Palestinian capital — Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan renewed his call for all countries to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine, as a response to the US President Donald Trump's recent announcement, speaking at the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit on Wednesday. «I would like to call out to the nations of the globe respecting international law to rise up and recognise Jerusalem... Еще as the occupied capital city of the state of Palestine,» said Erdogan. «As the Islamic countries, we will never give up on our demand for a free and sovereign Palestinian state, the capital of which is Jerusalem,» he went on to say. The Turkish leader proceeded to show pictures of captured Palestinian youth during ongoing clashes with Israeli security forces in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Turkey is currently the president of the IOC which includes a total of 57 representatives of Muslim countries on four continents.
