Turkey: US decision 'destabilises' situation in Middle East — Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a joint press conference in Ankara on Monday following bilateral talks between the leaders. According to the Russian leader, both Russia and Turkey agreed that «the decision of the United States administration to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to transfer the American embassy... Еще there does not help the settlement of the situation in the Middle East.» «Russia proceeds from the premise that this settlement must be built exclusively and in full on the previously adopted decisions within the framework of the United Nations,» noted Russian President. Erdogan commented on the decision, saying that it «led to a great wave of outrage. This decision disappointed Muslims, Christians and even Jews.» Speaking about a settlement in Syria, Putin said that «in case of resumption of some hot spots of resistance from terrorists, we will take effective response measures».
