Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan accused Germany of «abetting terrorists» at a conference held in the city of Rize in the Black Sea Region, Monday. The Turkish president claimed that Ankara sent «four thousand and five hundred terrorists files» demanding German authorities to grant extradition of the suspects wanted by Turkish authorities which, however, received «no response.» «When we have a... Еще terrorist, they ask for extradition. You send first then we will see. You are not sending the ones you have which are trade mark terrorists but asking for the ones we have. You have jurisdiction and Turkey doesn't? Turkey has jurisdiction too,» argued Erdogan in front of his ruling AK Party. Tension between the two countries has risen in the past few weeks since Turkey suspended German parliamentary delegation from inspecting their NATO bases in Konya and Incirlik and imprisoned several German nationals including Berlin-based activist Peter Steudtner. In response Germany issued a travel warning informing citizens that their safety cannot be assured in Turkey.
