Three people died and while four remain unaccounted for after a boat carry refugees capsized on the Maritsa River, the border between Turkey and Greece, on Tuesday. According to a spokesperson from Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Organisation (AFAD), the boat contained eight people. According to them, one of the eight people made it to Greece. Of the three bodies recovered by AFAD, two were... Еще said to be children, of around 12 and four years of age respectively. The causes of their deaths were not yet determined. The four others have still not been found, as strong currents are making it difficult for the rescuers to carry out the operation. After a 2016 deal between Turkey and the European Union, the flow of refugees passing through the so-called Balkan Route reduced drastically. Despite this, some refugees are still attempting the journey.
