Turkey: Migrants adapt to life at makeshift camp at Greek border

Migrants and refugees continued to wait at a makeshift camp near Pazarkule Sinir Kapisi in the hopes of crossing the Turkish border into Greece on Thursday. Migrants have continued to arrive at the spot ever since Turkish authorities announced the recent opening of their western borders with the European Union. Footage shows refugees in makeshift tents on the Turkish side of the border trying to... Еще shelter from the elements as they await updates while some washed clothes. «I want to go to the [other] side, in Europe. You know why? Because my country, in Somalia, we have war. And, for example, when you want to go to school, you cannot come back to [your] home, or [you are] dead, maybe the terrorists find you,» said Somalian refugee Yahya. Large numbers of migrants have been heading towards Turkey's European borders since last week, when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that authorities would no longer stop migrants from trying to enter the EU. Migrants seeking to cross into Greece have been turned away by the Greek authorities, whose security forces have deployed tear gas, stun grenades and water cannons.
