Turkey: Istanbul commemorates 79-th anniversary of Ataturk's death

Thousands of people took to the streets of Istanbul on Friday, in commemoration of the 79th anniversary of the death of the Republic of Turkey's founding father, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. People carried a large Turkish flag with Ataturk’s portrait on it. Sirens wailed throughout the city as citizens observed two minutes of silence.
