Istanbulites celebrated May 1 from their balconies on Friday, as a three-day curfew against the coronavirus pandemic began across the country.
Footage shows a large banner reading «May 1» covering the headquarters of the Workers Union Besiktas (DISK), and posters of the People's Liberation Party (HKP) calling for a «new social order.»
Footage also shows Istanbul residents clapping and playing... Еще music at 21:00 local time (18:00 GMT), as well as police presence near the city's famed Taksim Square.
Turkey begun a three-day curfew across 31 provinces on Friday in an effort to stem COVID-19.
Turkey has 122,392 coronavirus cases and 3,258 related deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
