The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul was for an indefinite period in an attempt to stem the spread of coronavirus in Turkey, as seen in footage from Tuesday.
«I think it's the right and appropriate decision because it can't be good for people's health to meet and be together. I don't think it means much for stores and restaurants to be open because people don't go out anyway,» said Mahmut Koca, a... Еще resident of Istanbul.
The Grand Bazaar, known locally as Kapilacarsi, was built between the 15th and the 18th century. It is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world.
Turkey has over 1,500 confirmed cases of coronavirus as of Tuesday, while 37 have died from the disease so far.
