Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, greeted his Italian counterpart, Luigi Di Maio, as the latter arrived for talks in Istanbul on Tuesday.
Top diplomats were expected to discuss bilateral relations and as well as regional and international issues. The two sides were also expected to touch upon the current situation in Libya.

Libya has been torn between the two rival sides — forces, loyal to Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA) and General Khalifa Haftar's Libyan National Army (LNA), which controls much of Libya's east and parts of the south.
