Turkey: Coach says Zenit will ‘have to fight’ against Fenerbahce in upcoming match

FC Zenit Saint Petersburg coach Sergey Semak appeared at a pre-match press conference in Istanbul on Monday, ahead of UEFA Europa League game against Fenerbahce. Speaking on his expectations he commented: «We have to fight. As Branislav [Ivanovic] has already said, every team has its own pros and cons. The absence of the official games is not a benefit. But the game will show how we are prepared... Еще for it. It is hard to expect that it is going to be our best game. Anyway, every player on the field will fight. We’ll see how the game will go.” Defender Branislav Ivanovic vowed the team is ready to face off with Fenerbahce, but admitted it won’t be an easy game: «Fenerbahce is a very strong and good team. We watched their games. We prepared for it. They didn’t show very good results during the Championship, but now they are. I think that they are as ready for this meeting as we are.” Zenit players were later seen training ahead of Tuesday’s match. Fenerbahce and Russia’s Zenit St. Petersburg are set to face off for the first leg clash of the UEFA Europa League’s Round of 32 on Tuesday, February 12, at Istanbul's Sukru Saracoglu Arena. The return match is set to be played on February 21 in St. Petersburg.
