An increased police presence and cordoned off streets could be seen in Tunis on Thursday, in the aftermath of the two suicide blasts which happened earlier in the day, killing at least one person and injuring at least eight people.
The first bomber targeted a police patrol on a central street not far from the French embassy, killing the officer and injuring three civilians.
The second attacker... Еще targeted a base of the National Guard in Al Qarjani district. Four security officers were wounded in the explosion.
No one has claimed the responsibility for the attacks so far.
Meanwhile, that same day Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi was rushed to a military hospital, due to what the presidency described as a «severe health crisis.» Reports surfaced that the 92-year old leader had passed away, but the presidency promptly denied those claims and added that his condition was stable.
