Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a surprise visit to Tunisia on Wednesday to discuss the situation in Libya. Speaking at a joint news conference with President Kais Saied in Tunis, Erdogan said he believed that Tunisia will make 'valuable and constructive' contributions to achieving stability in Libya.
«We see Tunisia as a factor of stability in the region. We have discussed the steps... Еще that we can take together. I believe Tunisia will make valuable and constructive contributions to efforts to achieve stability in Libya. We have discussed these issues today,» said Erdogan.
Erdogan's trip is the first visit of a foreign leader since Saied was elected president in October's vote.
The Turkish president said the two leaders discussed ways to agree a ceasefire in Libya.
