Tug-of-War breaks world record in Naha

Thousands of participants took part in the annual Naha Tug-on-war festival, in Naha city, Okinawa prefecture, Saturday. Two teams are pulled a 200m (656,1ft) rope, which was recognised by Guinness Book of World Records as the longest straw rope. Reportedly, 17 team members had spent some 40 days in order to prepare the rope for the event. The tradition was revived in 1971 and has been...
