‘The Coronavirus Cumbia’ urges listeners to wash their hands as song goes viral

Music Producer Ivan Montemayor, also known as Mr. Cumbia, commented on his most recent hit that's found fanfare around the world: «La Cumbia del Coronavirus» [The Coronavirus Cumbia] while giving an interview in Durham, North Carolina on Friday. «There has been some controversy surrounding the song because a lot of people think that I am making fun of it, but that's not the case...The song merely... Еще explains the disease, where it comes from and how to look after yourself,» Ivan explained. The Mexican music producer, who resides in the US, released the song in late January and it has since been viewed over 600 thousand times on Youtube and has inspired several people, including health workers, to make videos dancing to the Latin American hit. Ivan says that he has already been approached by many fans across the world including, Spain, Great Britain and even Germany. «I am surprised that the coronavirus cumbia has reached everywhere. I am very happy and thankful to God for every person that supports my music, even if they don't speak Spanish,» Ivan added. According to the latest report by the World Health Organisation (WHO), at least 98,000 people worldwide have been infected by the COVID-19 virus so far, and over 3,300 people have lost their lives.
