Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha delivered a statement at the
opening ceremony of the 35th ASEAN summit kicked off in Bangkok on Saturday.
«We are gathered here in partnership and friendship with the world to make our region a better place for all,» the Thai leader said ahead of the official group photo.
Prayut Chan-o-cha also presented the 2019 ASEAN Prize, which was... Еще awarded to Mercy Malaysia founder, Tan Sri Dr Jemilah Mahmood, for her humanitarian and disaster relief management work around the South-east Asian region.
The 35th ASEAN summit kicked off on Thursday October 31st and is due to end on Monday November 4. State representatives of Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam are expected to discuss various topics including connectivity, sustainability, and environmental and financial inclusion among ASEAN states.
