Thailand: Former PM Shinawatra’s verdict postponed as supporters gather at Supreme Court

The verdict of Thailand's former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra was postponed after she failed to show up to Bangkok's Supreme Court, Friday. Thousands of supporters gathered outside the court to hear the verdict. Yingluck's lawyer told the court that the former prime minister couldn't attend due to health reasons. The court however issued an arrest warrant and the seizure of her bail money... Еще, stating it was possible she may have fled. The verdict has been postponed until September 27th. Yingluck faces a sentence of 10 years imprisonment for allegations of negligence in a rice buying scheme. 4000 police and servicemen surrounded the Supreme Court to prevent any protests.
