Thousands of people participated in the annual Wai Kru Tattoo festival at the Nakhon Chai Si district in the Thai province of Nakhon Pathom on Saturday. The festival took place in the Wat Bang Phra temple, around 50 km (30 miles) west of Bangkok. The temple is known for its magically-charged tattoos which are said to be able to protect their wearers from harm. People were seen impersonating... Еще animals, screaming, crawling and charging towards the temple. Followers of deceased Buddhist monk Luang Pu Boon visit the temple every March to take part in the Wai Kru ceremony, which signifies paying respect to one's teacher, and to have their tattoos recharged.
