Eleven of the twelve boys rescued from the Tham Luang caves, along with their coach, were ordained as Buddhist novices at a temple in Tachilek on Wednesday to honour the diver Saman Gunan, who died during their rescue. Garbed in white robes and with shaven heads, the boys lit candles and stood quietly as they observed the opening of the ceremony, before switching to saffron robes to complete it... Еще. The twelve boys and their coach will live at the temple for nine days, and will be taught meditation and other Buddhist practices until their departure on August 4. The tradition is practiced by Buddhist males in Thailand who have experienced hardship. One of the boys is reportedly a Christian and so was not ordained.
