The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and FIFA will collaborate in the field of social development and healthy lifestyles, both parties announced at the 35th ASEAN summit in Bangkok on Saturday.
«The MoU [memorandum of understanding] put forward four areas of collaboration which are promotion of sport integrity, sport for development, FIFA Football Schools Programme and lastly... Еще, professional capacity building,» said ASEAN Secretary General Lim Jock Hoi during his speech.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said «It is our duty, our task to come here to work together and to invest. To invest in football, to invest in our youths in our boys and girls because this is the future.»
Infantino and Jock Hoi take the stage to sign the memorandum of understanding followed by ASEAN leaders who posed for a group photo.
The 35th ASEAN summit has kicked off on Thursday October 31st and is due to end on Monday November 4. Member states include Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
