Thailand: Anti-govt protesters rally near Royal Thai Police Headquarters in Bangkok

Anti-government protesters gathered at the Ratchaprasong Intersection and at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters in Bangkok on Wednesday, as the Parliament was debating the proposals to reform the Constitution and reportedly discarded five out of seven of them. Aim, a student protester said, «I think the people came today and said this is the point where they think is the point of no return for our country because yesterday was like the most brutal that the government have done to us [sic] and to all the movement that has been going on for like a lot of month now [sic],» referring to recent clashes between police and the protesters. Thailand has seen a wave of anti-government demonstrations throughout the past months, with students and other activists calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, constitutional reform, and a reform of the long-standing monarchy system in the country. Counter-protests in support of the monarchy have also been taking place.
