Thailand: Anti-coup protesters face off with police in 4th year of military rule

Tensions erupted between anti-coup protesters and police in Bangkok on Tuesday, after the police blocked the road in front of Thammasat University in an attempt to prevent the protesters from reaching the Government House. With signs and T-shirts reading 'Democracy Now' hundreds of protesters gathered at the university to mark the fourth year of military rule, also known as the National Council... Еще for Peace and Order, which took power in Thailand with a military coup in 2014. Police proceeded to make arrests after prohibiting the gathering of more than five people. The protesters planned to march from Thammasat University to the Government House and demand elections. However police forces circling the university barricaded the road.
