Iran's government spokesperson Ali Rabiei welcomed the release of Iranian prisoners from the United States, saying the country was "fully prepared to exchange all prisoners," during a press conference in Tehran on Monday, as freed Iranian scientist Majid Taheri returned to Tehran. "We hope that this process of release of all Iranian prisoners in the US will continue. And as we have repeatedly stated, Iran is fully prepared to exchange all prisoners. The US government is responsible for this delay," Rabiei said. "It was good news that we managed to release three Iranian scientists." The remarks came following the release of Iranian doctor Majid Taheri, who returned to Iran on Monday as the result of an agreement between Washington and Tehran and after the release of a US Navy veteran detained in the country, last week. Days earlier, Iranian scientist Sirous Asgari was also released and flown back to Tehran, while Iranian doctor Masoud Soleimani was freed in December 2019. During the same press conference, Rabiei also dismissed the recent tweet by US President Donald Trump advising them to "make the big deal" before the US elections as "nothing more than a political show."
