Syrian football teams returned to the pitch at Faiha Stadium in Damascus, on Thursday, as the country's Premier League continued following a two-month suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Al-Wathba and Al-Fatwa teams could be seen playing with few supporters present at the stadium. Al-Wathba won the encounter by scoring four goals against Al-Fatwa's one. The football season reopening follows the easing of restrictions by the government.
Muhannad Taha, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Sports Federation in Damascus, said clubs adhered to the guidelines and took all precautionary measures required.
The football season in Syria was halted on March 14 in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
