After airstrikes targeted different areas throughout Syria on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, an onion drying factory was severely damaged by one of the missile attacks, in Salamiyah in the Hama governorate, Wednesday.
Residents could be seen clearing the broken glass from streets in areas nearby the targeted factory.
«At 00:45 o'clock exactly, we woke up to the sound of a loud explosion, which was then followed by other loud explosions,» said one of the residents, adding, «the explosions were terrifying and indescribable, the children were terrified, and I took my wife to the hospital afterward due to the shock.»
Another resident denounced the airstrikes and described them to be a «terrorist act» against the people and the citizens.
According to Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) the airstrikes were carried out by Israel, targeting several locations in Salamiyah and Saburah in Hama countryside. The agency's source added that the Syrian air defence dealt with the missiles and prevented a large number of them from reaching their targets.
The Israeli side has not yet commented on the strikes.
The Syrian Ministry of Defence announced on Tuesday that two soldiers were killed and four others were injured due to airstrikes targeting areas in Deir Ezzor countryside, Homs countryside, and the countryside of As-Suwayda.
