A parade of ships and support vessels that are part of the operational unit of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea took place in the Syrian port of Tartus on Sunday, in honour of the Russian Navy Day.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, a diesel-electric submarine Stary-Oskol, a frigate Admiral Grigorovich, a corvette Pitliviy (Inquisitive), small missile ships Veliky Ustyug and... Еще Uglich, a support vessel, a ship repair vessel, a marine salvage tug and anti-diversionary and patrol boats were involved in the parade.
To celebrate the Navy Day, Russian airspace forces, namely front-line bombers SU-24M, multifunctional fighter-bombers Su-34 and SU-35 fighters and helicopters MI-8AMTSh flew in a parade formation over the Tartus port.
The parade ended with a demonstration of modern Russian ships' capabilities and military training of personnel.
