Personnel from the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria medical delivered a batch of urgently needed medical supplies to hospital patients in Deir Ez-Zor, Thursday, as Syrian government forces continue battling fighters of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) in the city.

Head of the medical supply department of the Russian Reconciliation Centre Vladimir Korzavatih described the shipment saying, «These are antibiotics, antipyretics, medicaments for treating cardiovascular system as well as medicaments for the smallest citizens of this city — for children.»
The hospital's Chief Doctor Mohammed Mustafa, explained, «[The situation here in Deir Ez-Zor] is very severe. Terrorists are everywhere — ISIS has besieged this city.»
Deir ez-Zor, which is situated southeast of IS' former stronghold of Raqqa, was besieged by Islamic State in 2014. The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) with the help of the Russian Aerospace Forces recently helped break the siege.
