Syria: Russian Centre for the Reconciliation evacuates civilians from eastern Ghouta

Reports state that the children were urgently hospitalised. Eastern Ghouta's citizens are facing famine and the militants impede their routes to the territories run by the official government, according to some of the evacuated. The first humanitarian operation of this nature was carried out on December 29th, 2017. «We made huge effort to evacuate the ill people, 29 people, from eastern Ghouta ahead of the New Year,» said Evtushenko. Eastern Ghouta is one of the four de-escalation zones in Syria which is currently under control of armed rebel groups.
