Servicemen from the Russian Centre for the Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in the Syrian Arab Republic conducted a humanitarian evacuation of eastern Ghouta's civilian population, as shown in footage filmed in Damascus and released on Saturday.

On the night of January 19th, the Russian Reconciliation Centre along with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Movement reportedly took ten people, including three children, out of the opposition-held city of Douma to provide them with treatment.
Reports state that the children were urgently hospitalised.
Eastern Ghouta's citizens are facing famine and the militants impede their routes to the territories run by the official government, according to some of the evacuated.
The first humanitarian operation of this nature was carried out on December 29th, 2017.
«We made huge effort to evacuate the ill people, 29 people, from eastern Ghouta ahead of the New Year,» said Evtushenko.
Eastern Ghouta is one of the four de-escalation zones in Syria which is currently under control of armed rebel groups.
