Syria: Protesters march against Assad in As Suwayda ahead of announced US sanctions

Around 300 people marched through As Suwayda on Saturday, protesting against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government. The protest took place against the backdrop of impending US sanction and Syria's dire economic condition. The protesters were seen marching through the city, chanting slogans against Assad and calling for his resignation. The latest US sanctions, also known as 'the Caesar Act', will target businesses and officials financing the Syrian government, and is set to come into effect on June 17.
