Seemingly endless lines of vehicles are forming in front of petrol stations in Damascus, to tank up amid a worsening fuel shortage in Syria, footage released on Tuesday shows.
Lorry and taxi drivers, who heavily rely on fuel for their daily runs, seemed to be the ones most affected by the fuel shortage.
«I waited for nine hours and the gas station closed when it was finally my turn,» said a taxi... Еще driver with others echoing the long waiting times often getting as long as a working day.
«We would not know where our time is going to be wasted, it may be in the benzene line or the gas line, and then there is the bread line, we waste the whole day.»
Tight sanctions, mostly imposed by the US and the growing pressure on ally Iran have been blamed for the fuel shortage.
