Syria: Kids were playing outside as coalition airstrike hit Raqqa — eyewitness on alleged bombing

An eyewitnesses to a US-led coalition airstrike on civilians in Raqqa, recounted what he saw from Al-Qamishli National hospital, on Tuesday. One witness claimed that the coalition aimed to hit civilians, saying, «It was very clear that there was no insurgents in that area, there were kids playing in the streets and we were bringing water from a water tap sapping drops, we were filmed, then... Еще directly targeted after hours. Our house, and the civilian houses around us were directly targeted.» Another eyewitness also stated that the targeting of a «civilian neighbourhood» was intentional, on the part of the coalition. This man also relayed a rumour that the US-led coalition used White Phosphorus in Raqqa's Foros district, saying, «It has been said that the Coalition used white phosphorus in Faros neighbourhood in Raqqa. It was the aircrafts. Who else would do that?» In June, Amnesty International responded to allegations that US-led forces were using White Phosphorus or any other chemical weapon in Raqqa. The non-profit organisation condemned such action; they said the substance «endangers the lives of thousands of civilians trapped in and around al-Raqqa city, and may amount to a war crime under these circumstances.»
