Syria: Govt. forces make gains on southwestern border with Jordan

The Syrian army and its allies made gains of around 30km (19 miles) in the Sha'ab valley on Syria's southwestern border with Jordan, Thursday, after clashes with opposition groups in the region. The Syrian army and its allies have reportedly gained control of checkpoints and border posts in the southwestern city of Sweida, close to the border with Jordan. Rebel groups, some of them Western... Еще-backed, still control most of Syria's southwestern border with Jordan and Israel. The Sweida province was not included in the ceasefire brokered between the US and Russia in July.
