Syria: Civilians leave Idlib province through humanitarian corridor

Dozens of families left militant-occupied parts of Idlib province through the Abu al-Duhur checkpoint on Monday. Some of the refugees arriving to the checkpoint shared their experiences. Fatima Mustafa, who lived under militant control for nearly six months, said «the journey was smooth, no disturbances occurred.» Another, Aisha Ahmet, however, said that upon her initial attempt to leave, she... Еще was «threatened» by gunmen and forced to return back. Head of Aleppo local Centre for Refugee Reception, Distribution and Settlement Oleg Demyanenko explained: «In cooperation with local authorities, with governmental, military and political bodies — we are working together with the Governor and the Mayor of the city and the province — a special committee has been established that receives refugees [who leave the corridor], helps them to check the documents and to draw them up.» Meanwhile in Russia's Sochi, participants of the Astana process are holding talks on the humanitarian situation in Syria as well as on the establishment of a Syrian constitutional committee.
