Switzerland: Independent panel to be set up to review handling of COVID-19 pandemic — WHO chief

World Health Organisation's Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced the setting up of an independent panel to evaluate the organisation's and governments' response to COVID-19 pandemic, Geneva, Thursday. «In November we will resume the World Health Assembly and an independent panel will present an interim report,» he said, adding that in May 2021 the «substantive» report will be presented. He stressed that the pandemic needs a serious evaluation and not a standard report to «tick a box.» Former New Zealand prime minister Helen Clark and former Liberian president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf were reported to have agreed to head the panel.
