Sweden: Social Democratic-led government a 'guarantee' against far-right rise — Lofven

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven called his party, the Social Democrats, a «guarantee» against the right-wing Sweden Democrats, after casting his vote in the country's general election in Stockholm on Sunday. «Social Democrats and the Social Democratic-led government is a guarantee for not letting the Sweden Democrats, [an] extremist party, a racist party, get any influence in the government... Еще,» Lofven said. The ongoing election is considered to be Sweden's most important election in decades, with immigration being the central issue in the campaign after Sweden accepted 163,000 refugees in 2015 — the highest intake in the EU per head of population. Opinion polls suggest that the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats may win around 20% of the vote, which would make them the second largest party in parliament after the Social Democrats.
