Sweden: Police condemn Malmo Festival sex attacks, confirms 12 arrests

The press officer for Malmo's police, Nils Norling, stated that 12 people were arrested over the past weekend, after 22 women reported that they were sexually assaulted at the Malmo Festival, speaking at the legal centre of the Swedish city on Tuesday. «During the first four days of the Malmo Festival there have been 22 police reports of sexual attacks. The police have arrested 12 people for... Еще committing the attacks,» said Norling. He pointed out that «the arrested people are all men. Boys from the age of 16, up to and including men in their 40's,» stressing that there is «a wide age range among the attackers.» Although 12 attackers have been successfully identified and arrested, Norling pointed out that «there are still 10 cases where we still haven't been successful,» but guaranteed that police «are working hard» to find the remaining perpetrators. The press officer confirmed that police are investigating CCTV footage recorded by cameras of the Festival in order to «find the attacks and suspected attackers.» Malmo Festival is the largest Scandinavian city festival and features events related to art, music, culture and food. It kicked off on August 11 and will conclude on August 18.
