Concerned citizens in Malmo launched an initiative to patrol the city's streets on Friday following the gang rape of a teenage girl in the neighbourhood of Sofielund last weekend. They hope to make the streets safe again, patrolling during the evenings and nights, particularly on weekends. «We in the party are strongly against all kind of abuse to women, physical as well as verbal in... Еще workplaces, nightclubs and all other places, no matter who the offender is,» said Nils Littorin from the Communist Party, who partook in the patrol. The 17-year-old girl was gang raped in a children's playground last Saturday, with flowers and candles being left at the scene by well-wishers. This is not the first incident; on November 4th another girl was raped by several men following a party in north Malmo, while another rape was reported at a bus stop in the city centre a week later.
