Sudan: Trial of ousted president al-Bashir postponed to November 3

The High Criminal Court set the trial date of former Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to November 3, over alleged crimes related to the 1989 military coup and the 2003 Darfur conflict, in an hearing held in Khartoum on Tuesday. The ousted president al-Bashir, who can be seen entering the courtroom, faces charges of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity and will be prosecuted with other 27 officials by the International Criminal Court (ICC) delegation. The defence lawyers presented their arguments in response to the accusations read in the previous session by the state prosecutor-general Tagelsir al-Hebr, rejecting the indictments.
