Tens of thousands of protesters flooded the streets of Khartoum on Sunday, demanding the ruling military council hand over power to a civilian-led government.
The ‘million man march’ saw protesters chant and wave Sudanese flags as they made their way through the streets of the nation’s capital. It is the biggest demonstration since June 3, when security forces violently dispersed a protest camp... Еще, ending with dozens killed.
One protester told Ruptly that a complete overhaul of the current administration was necessary to remedy systemic issues of poverty and injustice.
“We are protesting for justice and for every poor person, for every tired and hungry person,” she said, adding: “We won’t go home until they listen to us, we want it civil.”
Sudan has seen mass protests since the Transitional Military Council (TMC) took over power after the ousting of President Omar Al-Bashir in April.
