Yousef al-Bahtini, a 12-year-old Palestinian boy, showed off his skills on Saturday in Gaza ahead of a time trial attempt to break the World Guinness Book record for the fastest time to travel 20 metres (65 feet) in a contortion roll.
Yousef lives in Gaza, which has been under Israeli blockade for almost a decade. To meet the Guinness jury based in Amman, he needs to get permission from Jordan... Еще to enter the country then permission from Israel to travel through.
While waiting for border control decisions, the young contortionist tries to improve his own time which is now 14 seconds over 20 metres. The previous record holder Leilani Franco from the UK managed to cover the same distance in 17 seconds in 2013.
The boy says that he hopes to “raise the flag of Palestine high and participate in international programmes.”
