State of Palestine: West Bank settlement scene of clashes on 'Nakba Day'

Clashes erupted between Palestinians and Israel's military near the Israeli settlement of Beit El in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, as part of protests commemorating 'Nakba Day'. The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) fired tear gas and rubber bullets in an effort to disperse protesters. Palestinians continue to protest after yesterday's opening ceremony of the new US embassy in Jerusalem... Еще, during which more than 60 Palestinians were killed. Nakba, means the 'Catastrophe' in Arabic and refers to the 1948 Palestinian exodus, where an estimated 700,000 Palestinians were expelled to make way for the newly created state of Israel.
