State of Palestine: UNRWA employees hold mass protest against Trump funding cut

Employees of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) held a mass protest in Khan Younis, Tuesday, to protest against US funding cuts. “We tell the American people to put pressure on Trump to take back the decision of stop the funding of the UNRWA administration throughout the region,“ stated Vice-head of the Union of Arab Employees in UNRWA, Amal al-Batsh. “We... Еще are facing a humanitarian disaster if the funding is stopped. There is not enough money in the budget to educate children, treat sick people or to give aid to poor people,“ stated Head of the UNRWA employees staff union in the Gaza Strip, Ameer al-Meshal. In January, the administration of US President Donald Trump said it would withhold $65 million of a planned $125 million funding instalment to UNRWA, calling on other nations to contribute more.
